Public Notice - Zoning Map Amendment No. 2026R-115 Receives First Reading

The Meade County Fiscal Court conducted the first reading of Zoning Map Amendment No. 2026R-115 on September 8, 2026.

The amendment concerns approximately three acres of property located at 715 Johnnie Pack Road in Brandenburg, identified as PVA Map No. 147-00-00-008.29. Steven and Megan Fitzgerald and Connie and Phillip Skaggs are listed as the applicants and owners.

The requested amendment would rezone the property from A2 Agriculture to R1 Residential. According to the application, the rezoning is requested to allow a new home to be constructed after the parcels are separated.

The Meade County Planning and Zoning Commission considered the request during its regular meeting and public hearing on August 20, 2026. No members of the public spoke in favor of or against the request, and no testimony opposing the rezoning was presented.

After reviewing the application materials, surrounding zoning classifications, public hearing record and Meade County Comprehensive Plan, the Commission unanimously recommended approval without conditions. The Commission found that the requested zoning map amendment is in agreement with the adopted Comprehensive Plan.

The amendment received its first reading before the Meade County Fiscal Court on September 8, 2026, and was approved by at least a majority of the Fiscal Court members.
